Our laboratory is home to state-of-the-art equipment that supports our endeavors in material synthesis
and crystal structure determination. Below is a list of some of the major
equipment available in our lab:
Laboratory Equipment
-
2 Thermolyne muffle furnaces capable of reaching 1200°C (controlled by Eurotherm multi-segment temperature-controllers).
-
1 Labotec chamber furnace with a maximum temperature of 1300°C (controlled by an Omron multi-segment temperature-controller).
-
1 Single segment mufflefurnace capable of reaching 1100°C.
-
Fume hood and oxy-hydrogen flame source for vacuum and argon sealing silica-glass tubes.
-
Vigortech glovebox for safe storage and usage of high-purity air-sensitive elements and chemicals.
-
Centrifuge for decanting samples at high temperature.
-
Rigaku MiniFlex benchtop X-ray diffractometer.
-
Centorr 5SA single Arc furnace for arc melting reactions during polycrystalline synthesis.
In addition to the equipment listed above, We also have access to a range of facilities on campus to further enhance our
capabilities. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Campus Facilities
-
Bruker single-crystal x-ray diffractometers for structure determination.
-
Access to SEM and EDX facilities for compositional analysis.
-
Quantum Design PPMS (Physical Property Measurement System) for measuring magnetic, electric and thermal properties.
Our lab is committed to providing researchers with the tools they need to conduct innovative research and make groundbreaking discoveries.
